Dressmaker is a sewing and dress shop game about turning a customer brief into a finished garment. This guide describes the known loop from the public prototype and official release information; final systems may change at launch.

Gameplay loop

  1. Accept orders from customers and read the occasion, mood and budget.
  2. Choose a dress design that fits the request.
  3. Select fabric after comparing cost, look and style fit.
  4. Cut patterns by placing the required pieces on the cloth.
  5. Sew each seam steadily and slow down around curves.
  6. Decorate with trim only after the structure works.
  7. Deliver or sell the finished dress through the shop loop.
  8. Build reputation as completed work improves the dress shop.

Accept orders

Start with the customer request, not with a favorite fabric or decoration. Occasion, preferred style and budget decide which choices are safe. If the brief asks for a specific mood, use that as the main filter before spending money.

Design the dress

Patterns create the silhouette. Pick the bodice, skirt, sleeves and collar before decoration, because the structure decides whether the final dress can satisfy the order.

Choose fabric

Fabric affects appearance, cost and how the dress reads against the customer's request. Keep enough budget for required trim and avoid treating prototype values as final launch data.

Cut patterns

Place pattern pieces with the grain direction in mind. Cut only when the layout is valid and every required piece is accounted for.

Sew and decorate

Sewing rewards control. Stay close to the seam guide, slow down around curves and fix drift early. Add lace, bows, buttons or other decoration after the dress structure already matches the brief.

Shop management

Official launch information points to a broader shop loop with custom orders, ready-made dresses, reputation and selling from the shop window. The exact off-the-rack rules should be verified from the full Steam build before they become database entries or scoring advice.
